Lost Wax Process

The lost wax process is a few thousand year old technique. My grandfather built a foundry in Little Harbour over 70 years ago

This foundry is in full operation and producing many pieces of sculpture.

About Me

My Background

My Inspiration

My Background

When I was young and growing up in Little Harbour my favorite time of day was when I was allowed to draw, paint and model clay. My grandparents were both artist and art teachers. As I got older, this love never faded and eventually I went to college to study Architecture and art.

My Medium

My Inspiration

My Background

I use many different mediums, such as clay, acrylics, bronze, India ink, pastels and wood and a few items that drift up from the ocean on the beach behind the Foundry.
I believe that working in a single medium is restrictive to my artistic process. Each idea manifests in its own individual style.

My Inspiration

I enjoy hiking and visiting museums in my spare time.  Many of my pieces are a direct  result of these hikes in nature and trips to museums around the world. My grandfather, Randolph Johnston, was a great influence in my work.
